Reminded of some amazing adventures every time I sit down to edit my pics for a Lonely Planet submission. I promise to start to share some of those stories once Janey and I get a handle on this whole blogging thing. 🙂
What is the definition of a hero? The answer to that question has changed for me personally as I’ve gotten older and I’ve come to appreciate the unlimited challenges of life and the ever changing forms of inspiration found within it. From as long as I can remember my dad had a hero. A hero that inspired him, a hero that took on a nation, a hero that continues to be celebrated by people around the world… Muhammad Ali hasn’t thrown a punch in more than two decades.. yet I challenge you to find anyone that has crossed “The greatest of all time” off their list of heros. I know for sure that my father hasn’t. Happy birthday fellow Capricorn.
I know I’m not alone in my concern for the people of Haiti. I’ve always been encouraged by humanity in times of crisis (it’s the day to day the troubles me) but as a travel photographer who has spent years in troubled nations, I feel a emotional connection to the people effected by this disaster. I’m not in a position to pick up and join the relief effort on the trouble island… that’s not to say I can’t help, that we can’t help.
